Laser Hair Removal: Sessions, Candidacy, and Hair Reduction
Last updated November 2, 2026 · 4 min read
If you are tired of shaving, waxing, or keeping track of when you last did either, laser hair removal is worth a closer look. Most people start with two questions: how many sessions will this take, and will it work for me?
This guide answers both, and explains what long-term hair reduction realistically means.
What laser hair removal can do
Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction. At Therapeutic Elements, we use the InMode Triton system.
Treatment areas include the underarms, bikini or Brazilian area, legs, face, and other areas with unwanted hair.
Why it takes more than one visit
Hair grows in cycles, so multiple visits are needed. Our packages typically include six sessions, and additional sessions or maintenance may be recommended.
Appointments are often spaced approximately 4–8 weeks apart, with timing adjusted for the area and your hair growth.
Will it work for my hair and skin?
Laser hair removal works best on hair with pigment. White, gray, and very light hair generally respond poorly, so it helps to know that before you start.
Skin tone, hair color, recent tanning, and medical history all affect candidacy and treatment settings. Your provider reviews these with you, so mention any recent sun exposure or tanning at your consultation.
Triton's multi-wavelength technology offers customized treatment options for a broader range of skin tones, including darker skin types. Suitability is still individual and confirmed at your consultation.
What long-term reduction means
Long-term hair reduction is not the same as a promise that every hair is gone for good. Some regrowth can occur due to hormones and medications, and maintenance treatments may be helpful.
